it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My kids absolutely LIGHT UP when they get to use Sharpie markers!!! In three years of teaching, I've never seen another material that motivates as many students as Sharpie markers. I teach 9th and 10th grade Visual Art in an urban, low-income, public charter school.
My kids love their art class creative expression outlet! Our school doesn't have much money to provide these kids with high quality supplies that will motivate and engage them. Doing projects that allow students to use Sharpie markers is always a classroom favorite. Even the least motivated students are dedicated to their projects, putting thought, time and care into each piece.
The Sharpie resources that my kids need will start off this academic school year with huge momentum! Our school has changed locations this year. It would be dynamic to start off the year with Sharpie projects that can be posted up all around our new school site. This will really help inspire our kids, help settle us into our new building and create academic momentum and school culture immediately.
Every year my kids beg me to do Sharpie projects with them again in the following school year. Your contribution to our art program will not only motivate and inspire young city kids, it will also lead to amazing works of art that will be used to help a great school feel at home in its new building. This opportunity will light creative fires for our kids on many important levels. A contribution to this project will help our school continue to thrive in the time we need to most.
