Do you like playing games? My students think it's the best way to learn, because it helps them to remember information better.
The majority of my students are Spanish speakers that come from families with great financial needs.
About 65% of students at the school where I work are English Language Learners (ELLs), and about 98% of the students receive free and reduced-price lunch. My students are 81 enthusiastic and curious fifth grade ELLs who want to learn and be engaged and challenged on a daily basis!
My Project
My students love when we play educational games during our literacy class. They think that they are just playing games, but in reality, they are learning a lot of new information, constantly practicing, and reviewing when they play the games. I would love to see this much enthusiasm from my students in our social studies class as well!
We will practice managing our money through the "Budget" game that I am requesting. My students love learning about money, and this game will make this unit fun for my students while also teach them an important life skill.
In addition, in the social studies class, it is hard for my students to remember all the important events that happened in American history. I strongly believe that learning about American Revolution through simulations will help me bring American history alive in our class and help my students remember it.
Finally, in all classes we need sharpened pencils to write what we are learning.
I want to see my students be successful in the future.
I believe that these resources will help my students learn and retain information, because they will get to experience what they're learning through games and simulations!
