My Project
My students are not always excited to have art as their special. I get a lot of kids that say they 'hate art'. However, they need opportunities to express themselves. Art is a place for students to use their hands and challenge themselves to express their feelings in new mediums.
Our goal is to give kids different opportunities to be creative and problem solve.
Our students have rigorous academic schedules. While this is great, it doesn't always allow them to experience joy. Art gives them the opportunity to express themselves, to create, and to problem-solve. If art is the reason they come to school, then at least, they have a reason. Get them in the door, then we can do our jobs.
