This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are in need of electric pencil sharpeners.
I teach 15 enthusiastic fourth graders in a small, unique, urban, diverse, public school.
Some students are English Learners and get bussed in from overcrowded schools around the city. All my students are eager to learn and strive to do their best every day.
My Project
Having electric pencil sharpeners in the classroom will have a tremendous impact in how my classroom is run. First, pencils will be sharpened very quickly. Second, pencils will be sharpened before school so that students will have nicely sharpened pencils to begin their day and extra sharpened pencils to use when one breaks. Moreover, the classroom will be cleaner since there will not be any pencil shavings on the floor from using the manual pencil sharpeners students bring from home.
By donating to this project you will be helping my students to be more productive in the classroom.
They will spend less time looking for a friend who has a manual pencil and save time actually sharpening the pencil. Thus, more time will be devoted to their school work.
