My Students

My students are inquisitive, eager, and ready to learn! Although some of my students must deal with obstacles outside of school, I will not let that define their future.

My students enjoy hands-on, active, engaging projects which encourage them to think outside the box and find solutions!

Each child in my classroom absolutely loves learning, although the method and environment in which they learn best vary greatly. With the help of donors I am able to incorporate a variety of learning strategies, alternative seating and various learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are! They are truly an incredible group, and I am so lucky and thankful to have this group of learners that are excited and ready to learn!

My Project

My wish is to provide my students with any supply they might need. We go through a lot of paper, markers and pencils (which they very well might be eating) throughout the year making and using interactive notebooks. From science to math, we use these "books" as tools which allow my students to become more accountable for their education. If they are working independently and are unsure of a standard or topic, they are quickly able to peruse their Interactive Journal and find the answer. While making these journals, I encourage them to use bright paper, gel pens, and markers to customize the various sections and engage the creative piece of their brain (which is often forgotten with older elementary students) and write as many notes as they are able in order to best learn the material.

Unfortunately, many of our students do not have the basic supplies in order for them to be their best while at school.

My hope is to supply my students with materials at home and at school.

I am hoping to replenish our supply of pencils in order to allow them to continue using their interactive notebooks while remaining engaged in its' creation.
