Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students need electronics for the classroom (a CD player and a pencil sharpener) strong enough to last. It is difficult to do your best work without a sharp pencil.
Our school is a very diverse, Title I school where 86% of our students receive free/reduced lunch.
I have 25 first and second grade students who are very independent and like to do everything themselves. Since a growing independence is an important skill, it is something we value in our classroom.
My Project
I am requesting a heavy duty CD player and a heavy duty pencil sharpener for our classroom. Both of these resources are vital to the daily learning of my students. The pencil sharpener will allow students to be totally in control of their writing time each day and the CD player will allow my ELL students to hear stories in English every single day.
Thank you donors for seeing the value in my students.
They strive each day to do their very best work and to do whatever it takes for excellence. It is amazing the difference a sharp pencil and a story makes to a child.
