See what Ms. Lambert is requestingMy students need a quiet high quality pencil sharpener that will last for the school year. My students need sturdy pencils to write. We need a sweeper to keep our room clean.

A typical day starts out with screeching of our pencil sharpener, it groans and moans, and fails to sharpener pencils effectively. We try the bargain pencils, which only prolongs agony. First graders can be messy and our carpet takes a beating. We desperately need a sweeper to keep our carpets clean.
My students are energetic, eager learners from an inner city public school with high poverty.
Many of our parents work several jobs to provide for basic living expenses, which leaves little money left over for classroom donations or just basic school supplies.
My students will use the quiet pencil sharpener to sharpen their high quality pencils twice a day instead of every few minutes. My students will use the sweeper to clean up after breakfast in the classroom, and clean up minor spills during the day. The sweeper will allow my students to gain a sense of responsibility and respect for their environment.
My students need reliable good quality materials to allow them to work effectively.
My students need to focus on learning, not on the pencil sharpener, or resharpening broken pencils. My students need to be responsible for cleaning up their work with a quiet carpet sweeper. Please help bring the focus back on learning to my classroom.
