My Project
I teach at a Title I school where many of our students come from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. While our families are full of love and support, meeting basic needs can be a challenge—extras often fall out of reach. Yet, every day, our scholars show up ready to learn, and their resilience continues to inspire me.
To further support our young men, I started the Brothers of Excellence program in 2021, an afterschool initiative focused on academic support, mentoring, and building a sense of brotherhood.
We aim to equip our scholars with life skills and meaningful experiences that can shape their futures.
One way we hope to build confidence is through attire. We’re creating a shared wardrobe of blazers and ties for our scholars to wear at school events and on field experiences. These items will help them feel empowered and professional, reinforcing the mindset that they are capable, valuable, and destined for success.
Launching Brothers of Excellence has been a dream come true. I’m deeply proud of our students and want them to know just how much I believe in their potential. Your donation to this project would help us set them up for success, and it would mean the world to have you as a partner in their journey.
