Over the past two years, I have seen where having enough headphones for students has been an ongoing issues. This is true across classrooms and grade levels, making it a schoolwide issue. Limited quantities as well as the wear and tear of hundreds of students contribute greatly to the issue. We support a digital learning environment [DLE] with one-to-one technology so headphones are a not just nice to have-they are a necessity.
In my class particularly, a lot of the information and resources I present require the use of headphones. I know not all of my scholars are fortunate enough to own their own high quality, durable headphones, so I am seeking your support in providing my students a class set of headphones this year.
Helping supply my classroom with a set of headphones will benefit my scholars in multiple ways. All students will benefit from being more engaged through technology and media, but auditory learners as well as students who need support in reading will have the added benefit of me being better able to accommodate their needs. On a socio-emotional note, this also removes the potentiality of students being embarrassed by having "cheap," broken, or no headphones at all.
Please support me in supporting my students by contributing to our classroom set of headphones!
