Shark Tank Jr.: Clay, Creativity, and Classroom CEOs

Help me give my students clay, posters, and a Cricut to bring their ideas to life.

FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Bates's classroom raised $469

My Project

In our Shark Tank Jr. economics unit, students become young entrepreneurs by inventing their own product, writing a persuasive pitch, and presenting their ideas to a panel of “sharks.” To bring their ideas to life, we’re requesting clay for modeling prototypes, a Cricut Joy machine for custom branding elements (like logos and packaging), and a variety of poster-making materials such as display boards. These specific items will allow students to fully engage in the product development process, develop creative confidence, and take pride in their work.

Giving students access to real-world creation tools will deepen their learning and engagement.

By physically building a prototype, students will move beyond abstract thinking and engage in hands-on problem-solving. The Cricut Joy will help them bring a professional polish to their branding, encouraging ownership and attention to detail. Our goal is to help students understand economics and the global marketplace in a memorable, student-centered way that builds 21st-century skills like collaboration, communication, and critical thinking.

My third-grade students are incredibly creative, curious, and kind. Many of them don’t have access to materials like these at home, so providing these tools at school will open new doors for expression and discovery. They light up when they get to make, build, and share their ideas—and with your help, we can empower them to think like inventors and problem-solvers.
