Help me give my students nonfiction magazines to read and learn from!
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Januzzi's classroom raised $684

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As the school librarian, I see students for a short time once a week. Having current magazine articles available for students would allow students to read short articles and have time to do a related activity or discussion with peers.
Over 60% of our students are English language learners or bilingual, so having magazine articles with photos, captions, charts and maps is extremely helpful for comprehension.
There is a high need for nonfiction reading opportunities. Magazines are very appealing to students. They allow for partner work and independent choice work.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
