Sharing Schnitzel: Uniting German Students Through Cuisine and Culture

My Students

It takes a special student to take a language all 4 years of high school. After 4 years of learning German together, these students have become a family.

My students are true German enthusiasts enjoying all aspects of the German language and culture.

They learn, practice, eat together and always support each other. These students are continuously driven to learn as much as they can about Germany. It's time for these students to break out of the confines of the classroom and put their new-found German skills to use in an authentic setting.

My Project

For the last four years German students have practiced words, phrases, sentences, and formulating questions. Now it's time to eat real German cuisine in a German-run establishment while speaking only German. This restaurant experience will take these students to the next level, requiring them to think and speak quickly in German.

Highly motivated students will eat authentic German food while practicing German conversation skills in an immersive environment.

While a trip to Germany is not feasible for all of my students, this field trip will enable everyone to experience the German culture and cuisine that they've only heard about and discussed in class.
