My Students
My kids are bright young men and women who are interested in the world around them. We are a Title 1 middle school located in Maui. We have a diverse population with students from more than 80 different ethnic groups. Since we live on a small island, everyone pretty much know one another.
My kids face many challenges in their everyday lives.
Due to the high cost of living, many of my students live in a home shared by a large number of peoples. In addition, many of my students have responsibilities that required them to grow up faster than they should. Despite their challenges, my kids continue to learn and create beautiful works as they work toward a better future for themselves.
My Project
After a year of isolation, our students need to learn how to communicate with one another again. One of the best way to communicate is by sharing information. However, since COVID 19 is not entirely over, we still need to be able to share in a safe way. These large post it notes will help facilitate this process. In addition, the usage of dry erase pockets, sheet protectors, and reusable post-it notes will also help us be more environmentally conscious.
