This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are amazing, but let's be honest, sitting still all day is hard. It's hard for adults. The majority of my students are on free and reduced lunch. They come from homes that do not have the basic comforts that we take for granted. With an unstable home life, the addition of flexible seating will help motivate and increase student attendance and achievement.
My students may not have a lot of comfort at home, but with your help, I can make our classroom a comfortable place they want to learn everyday.
Flexible seating will help get my students excited about coming to school and hopefully increase attendance.
My school is starting it’s second year and I am trying to make our classroom as welcoming for my students as it would be if our school had been around for many years.
My students do not get many opportunities to learn how to socially interact appropriately. Flexible seating would provide opportunities they normally would not get. Regardless of their home life, my students deserve the best.
My Project
Sometimes student need to move, even at times when it may not be ideal or convenient. It is hard to sit still for several hours and while I try to provide movement breaks, certain students need more movement opportunities.
Your generous donation will give my students an opportunity to move and wiggle without bothering other students.
With your donation, my students will be able to sit in there seat and wiggle and move as much as they want without causing a disruption.
Even through my students are 10 and 11 years old, they still need to move. Their bodies are still growing and their brain needs a break sometimes. Your donation will provide my students with that movement opportunity they so badly need.
