Share the Power of Communication for Children with ASD!
Help me give my students the power of communication with an iPad! My students are nonverbal children on the autism spectrum. I would be using this iPad with communication apps to work on communication and independent language.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are nonverbal/nonspeaking children on the autism spectrum. They have so much to say but sometimes do not have a way to accurately express their thoughts. Our class already has a subscription to many communication device apps, like TouchChat, LAMP Words for Life, and other free or affordable applications. The only problem - we do not have a functioning device that pairs with these apps.
This iPad would not only allow our kids to have access to share their needs and thoughts, but also help them learn new words and literacy skills.
AAC is proven to expand literacy skills, functional communication skills, vocabulary, and even verbal speech. This iPad would be use by our whole special education preschool department and be made accessible to each student. Please consider helping my students fully access their language, their school curriculum, and their school environment. Thank you!
