Help me give my students quality sound production through professional microphones and audio equipment so they can confidently share their voices to eager audiences.
It never ceases to amaze me how music can bring people together and create such a special bond. My students come from all different kinds of backgrounds culturally, financially, emotionally, and musically. Each and every one of them brings something unique to the classroom and into the music. Singing is fueled by vulnerability which isn't always easy to find in the world of middle school.
Choir is a place of refuge for many of my students.
They come to escape social drama, troubled home lives, academic pressure, mental illness, and other weights. Some things cannot be expressed through words alone; my students sing to express what they cannot speak. Together, they create one voice full of passion, emotion, and beauty.
My Project
We have opportunities to perform for the student population, the staff, and the general public, though we are unable to be truly heard due to our current lack of equipment. The professional audio equipment will allow my choirs to confidently perform and be authentically heard by audiences.
Donations to this project will provide my students with passionate and memorable performances.
With these items, we can also invite and host other ensembles and performance groups. These opportunities would allow choir students, as well as the rest of the student population, to experience high-quality and diverse talents. This exposes students to creative artforms that encourage human expression.
