My Project
The Surface Pro will empower my diverse group of students, including those with IEPs, by transforming geometry learning into an interactive and inclusive experience. This technology allows every student to explore essential concepts like transformations, angles, congruence, area, and 3D shapes through hands-on digital manipulatives. For students who need accommodations, it creates a safe space to experiment and build confidence without the pressure of going to the board in front of the class. By enabling them to manipulate shapes, plot points, and visualize concepts privately, the Surface Pro fosters meaningful, personalized learning that meets each student’s unique needs. This tool not only deepens understanding, but also encourages active participation, making geometry accessible, engaging, and empowering for all learners.
This project will truly create a different and transformative learning experience by using digital manipulatives that go beyond traditional methods.
Unlike static worksheets or lecture-only lessons, the interactive nature of the Surface Pro invites students to actively engage with geometry concepts in real time. For my diverse classroom, including students with IEPs, this means a personalized approach where every learner can explore, experiment, and understand at their own pace. The ability to manipulate shapes, visualize angles, and build 3D figures digitally makes abstract ideas concrete and accessible. It removes barriers like shyness or anxiety about participating in front of the class, fostering confidence and independence. By unlocking hands-on, meaningful learning tailored to each student’s needs, this project will revolutionize how geometry is taught and experienced, setting my students up for deeper understanding and lasting success.
