Read, It's time to read, Yeah! My students are caring, wonderful first graders located in the low country of South Carolina. They love reading and getting hands-on with great books and great authors. My class deals with low-income issues and very often they do not have access to a book at home. They love asking questions and getting answers. They love writing stories and telling them to friends. Reading opens the future to my students in college and career. They need literacy and need to comprehend to gain a great future.
My Project
My classroom needs basic supplies. We need cardstock to print poems and stories on. We need a laminator to keep them perfect for years to come. The crayon sharpener lets us add gorgeous pictures. We need Ziploc bags to transport our wonderful writing. The Yacker Tracker helps us keep our volume to a manageable level when we create many narrative writings! These supplies are vital.
