My Project
Shakespeare can be scary for many students such that they turn off and disengage. No matter how many juggling acts I perform, there are still those that need extra supports. The “No Fear Shakespeare” texts gives side-by-side Shakespearean text accompanied by “regular” language.
This approach to Shakespeare allows those students a place to look when intimidated.
No student should feel literature (especially Shakespearean texts with universal themes) is scary. Often even the name “Shakespeare” elicits groans and immediate reluctance. As a teacher, I want to bring all students into the world of literature so they may make meaningful and life-long connections. These texts will allow me to bridge that learning and enthusiasm gap.
