My Project
In my class, students learn to apply critical lenses to the texts they read, this can include the feminist lens, historical lens, archetypal lens, and others. In the spring quarter, students read the Shakespeare play “Othello” and write an essay using one of these applied lenses or perspectives. In addition, I also have students act out the play.
I hope to give students a class set with a “Plain and Simple English” translation so that they are better able to comprehend Shakespearean English and to be able to adequately act out a scene.
Many of my students struggle with the language barrier and a class set with translations would be a huge help, especially for language learners, and students with special needs!
