This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Having a book in your hand is much better than stapled photocopies which usually are missing a page.
My students are amazing young adults who strive to achieve their highest goals despite the struggling economy.
They continuously find ways to participate in the community and in school and give back to those who have helped them become successful. My students attend this public school because of our diverse Arts opportunities including major main stage productions, theatre competitions and well rounded Arts Education.
My Project
I teach a Senior level English class that focuses only on Shakespeare. Currently I have many of the class sets of the plays I need however there are some such as "Much Ado About Nothing" that I have have to photocopy from the internet. These books will allow the students to be able to see the original Shakespearean text along side key vocabulary and references which they cannot do with the photocopied texts.
The donations to this request will provide an enriching experience for my current students and those who follow.
It will also allow them to cover Shakespeare's text which so often is not covered until college. This allows students to be more prepared when leaving high school.
