Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are diverse as the candy Skittles. We may differ in culture, ethnicity, religion, academic, social and language abilities we all share the same passion for the desire to learn and to succeed.
We are a class full of students.
We may all be from different backgrounds with different abilities but we really are all the same. We all have the same goal. We all want to learn and be the best we can be. We all want to make our family proud. We all want to please. We all believe that we can and we will.
This is my class. A class full of passion, with intellect, with motivation and humor. It is my job to support their belief and make it their reality. I believe in them for I see the potential of our tomorrow.
Shakespeare wrote the tragedies. Arther Miller gave us the plays and Bruce Springsteen he writes from the soul. These great writers all had a dream and it all started in Kindergarten. Their little heads have great stories inside just waiting to burst out.
My Project
It is important for my students to be able to put their thoughts into words (correctly) and to illustrate their passion. We are a poor and culturally diverse district in flux but what is constant is the energy and desire to learn at the kindergarten level. They have passion as Springsteen. They have motivation as did Arthur Miller. They have inspiration and desired focus as Shakespeare has his imagination and drama. What they need are the tools to make those stories and dreams their reality and for the ability to write (correctly) a constant and become their second nature. Their little heads have great stories inside just waiting to burst out.
My project (materials) will enable students clearly express their thoughts, ideas and stories using correct grammar.
They will learn the tools of the writing trade which they will take with them beyond school.
