Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
All primary music students want to "shake, rattle and roll" when they come to music class. I teach music to 550 students in an elementary school and have began a music program (last year) with no equipment for my students. My students enjoy singing and playing games but they would have a better experience of learning music by using small instruments to keep them more involved in the music experience.
My students have been using the rhythm sticks so much that they are beginning to crack. I want to be able to provide other musical instruments to provide a wider range of experience with music.
My students need 10 sets of rhythm set bags and egg shakers to begin to experience how to use new instruments and provide them an opportunity to share in making music. These instruments will be used for students in Pre-K to 8th (as needed) for a variety of musical experiences.
