My Students

My students are very creative, but being in a low income area, we don't always have the proper materials to complete a project. My students come in every day with baggage looking for someone to make a difference in their day. I try to greet them with a smile or a hug.

Just a little greeting will go a long way with them.

Getting to know them makes a big difference in their attitude and their performance in class.

I love seeing their eagerness to learn and the progress they make throughout the year. When you have established a good rapport with them, they will do amazing things!

My Project

Banging pencils on the table. Making beats with their hands. Kicking the chair legs. Tapping their feet. Most of my students are constantly fidgeting. Almost always, their fidgeting causes many disruptions and leads to the initial student being agitated.

Flexible seating will allow my students to move and get their jitters out without causing a commotion to the other students in the classroom.

The students will be able to use flexible seating both in their own homes as well as in the school building. I think having these options will allow for more learning and less distractions in the classroom.
