My Project
To say social media has taken our youth over by storm is an understatement. As an educator, I've struggled over the years to compete with social media trends when it comes to maintaining student engagement and helping them find relevancy. It's more than having access to the latest technology. I've decided to stop competing and plan to join them marrying current technology with a nostalgic pastime.
While my students love to create virtual content and post obsessively how cool would it be to take this a step farther and give them a visual and tangible social media presentation in the classroom.
I want to create a selfie wall that will showcase what they're reading, their accomplishments, their joy, and even their challenges. I will use the printer to print highlights and visually display them in the classroom for all to browse while roaming the halls.
