Shade a Little Light on Our Subject

My students need shaded areas on our outdoor art patio to protect them from the desert sun.

My Students

Learning is so much more than facts and content. Creating a classroom where kids want to be, does not happen over night. It is important to me that my students enjoy coming to class and know that our classroom is place I want them to be and place they are represented.

Our school embraces art along with career and technical education, but most of all realizes the important impact that STEAM has on all subjects.

My school is a great school to be a teacher and for students to learn. Our mission is to prepare our students for real world opportunities by giving them assignments that will give them real working experience. Once completing the art programs at our school, students will have the opportunity to graduate high school with college credits in AP classes to get a jump start on their education. Our school is a wonderful place for children to learn and really find out what they like before investing their own funds in their college education.

My Project

I want to start to transform our outdoor seating area by providing our students with an additional area to work. For years the patio has just been a concrete area with no options for our students to work on their art outside.

Adding patio umbrellas will provide them the proper shade in our desert climate, so that they want to be outside enjoying our art patio.

This will help create the perfect environment to create art and enjoy being outside.

It is extremely important that this project shows our students that the best learning doesn’t always happen inside the classroom. Creating this outdoor environment will achieve that. The bases for the umbrellas will ensure that they stay put against the wind and will not tip over.
