My Students
Our art department strives to find the artist in each child. Many have already discovered their love of art in various forms. Some are just beginning to dabble to see if it is right for them.
The students here in my ceramics room are wonderful, kind, and creative.
They love to choose art classes that will push their skills and knowledge about art and ceramics. Sometimes all it takes to push them is a little bit of exposure and inspiration.
My Project
I am requesting underglazes to try new ceramic techniques for decoration. In ceramics class, we learn how to produce high-quality pieces of art. One of the ways to take work to the next level is to do a decorative process called sgraffito. These designs are etched into the ceramic piece before firing, producing deep and rich colors with intricate patterns. These needle tools are the right tool to do that job. By having these, students will be able to take their work to a higher standard of quality.
These underglazes and needle tools will be available to students for in-class use and if we have to take our learning back to an online format, they will be available for check out.
