I teach gifted education to 2nd and 3rd grade students.
My students are very interested in crafts involving sewing.
Every year the 3rd graders learn how to sew by hand during a pioneer simulation unit of study. Each student makes their own patchwork pillow to take home. They are in need of more pieces of fabric to make their pillows.
The 2nd grade students will also be making a flower craft project at the same time using the felt, twine and glue sticks. They will be making flowers out of the felt and sewing around the edges.
