My Project
My students prefer activities where they create things. Learning to sew things requires following instructions, taking measurements and utilizing different aspects of math. Additionally, it requires following instructions and problem solving.
Nothing gives our students more joy and fulfillment than creating something.
This joy in learning is expanded when it is something they can make use of including problem solving on how to repair clothing with a waist that is too small or even replace a zipper.
That is, they will learn relevant and useful skills in a fun way.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
