Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our Title I, PreK - 8th grade school building is located in Yonkers, New York. The building is huge and we lack many resources. We have over 1,000 students and all receive free breakfast and lunch. Most come from Latin America and attend monolingual and bilingual classes. The students in my class come to school wanting to learn and work hard because school is a safe place for them to be.
My amazing seventh graders are curious and eager to design and build!
This project would expose my students to the unfamiliar tools and materials needed to create different types of engineering and technology projects. Students will use leather technology to “tool” their own leather bracelets, create and design fusion bead backpack tags.
Your donations to this project will provide an exciting, hands-on experience which will help them understand that anything that is built or created must first be engineered, or planned out.
