This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Every day my students come to school ready to learn. No matter what they are going through at home they are very excited to come to school. As their teacher I want to make sure I provide with the best education possible. The student need materials to help them succeed with their education.
My school is located in a very poverty stricken neighborhood.
Although these students and their families face a lot of challenges in their neighborhood, they still want to come to school. They enjoy being in the classroom with their teachers and they are always ready to learn. My students deserve the best education possible!
In order for my students to receive the best education possible they rely on me as their teacher to provide them with the tools they need. My students get very excited when I teach them and they become very involved. They enjoy having new materials and technology in the classroom. It engages them in their learning and the love it.
My Project
The materials I am requesting are classroom supplies such as paper, chart paper, and printer ink. I am also requesting an iPad mini with cases for the iPad. These materials will be something that the students use on a daily basis.
Without paper, students cannot complete a lot of things. Things such as homework, projects, and classwork. If we have the paper, we are able to enhance their learning. The same goes for the iPad mini. I want to enhance my students learning every chance I get. The iPad mini engages my students because it is the technology that they love to use.
Lastly, I have requested books including I Want a Dog: My Opinion Essay; I Like Being Me: Poems for Children About Feeling Special, Appreciating Others, and Getting Along; Something Beautiful; and The Chocolate Touch. These books will be used for read aloud in the classroom. It will also be used to help students with their writing. Books provide examples of different styles of writing for the students. If they see famous authors writing stories, they will be willing to write more to be like them.
This project will not only make a difference to myself as the teacher but it will also benefit the students in my class.
My students are the ones who matter and they will be the ones who will use the materials. If they have these materials it will just make learning that much better!
I enjoy engaging my students in their learning and making it fun. I want my students to enjoy coming to school. With these materials I know they will love coming to school.
