Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My kindergarten students speak six languages and represent six countries! My students are curious, energetic, and they love learning.

My students spend their day learning in both English and Spanish.

We are a low income, dual language community school, where everyone knows each other. They have built such a close community and really help one another grow as friends and learners. They do not always have all of the resources they need at home, but they care so much about learning.

My Project

Kindergarten students are curious! You can put any assortment of manipulative in front of them and they will explore! While this is definitely a way of learning, these kits will provide a bit more structure into their scientific adventure. Magnets, introduction to coding tools, bricks and marbles all will be fun, hands-on tools to help my students learn and explore this new world of STEM!

Using these STEM kits will guide my students through their learning, while still giving them free exploration to learn through their mistakes and successes!

I have had students in the past who are hard to reach until you put something in front of them that they can build and put together. Activating this part of a child's brain can open so many paths to his/her learning!
