My Students

My students are a vibrant bunch of future engineers, mathematicians, artists, actors, doctors, nurses, comedians, social justice activists, entrepreneurs, and teachers. As an inclusive school, serving a diverse community in Boston, we serve students with a wide range of learning needs and backgrounds. Being in an urban school district, we receive little to no resources, and I need to make sure that all of my students have the materials and supplies they need to be successful in the classroom. As a school community, we strive to celebrate our differences and foster the perseverance necessary to overcome hurdles in the classroom and our community as a collective unit. The work that we do, in our classrooms, meets the needs of all learners and empowers them to achieve excellence in all facets of their lives.

My Project

I am a new teacher, setting up a classroom for the first time. A guided reading table is an essential part of the classroom, as it allows students to work in a collaborative small group setting. It is a piece of furniture that will be used by all students, everyday, and across all subjects.

As a teacher of a fully inclusive classroom, a guided reading table will allow me to give all students the support they need.

It will allow all students to get the tailored support they need, because it makes it much easier for students to work together and with a teacher.

By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase individualized supports for all students, you will ultimately help students achieve excellence through more active and engaging learning.
