Help me give my students a custom-built stage to stand and sit on during interactive games and lessons, to keep them engaged and excited about learning!
Kindergarten looks different now than it did 20 years ago! My kinders have been raised around technology, most of them learning how to work a tablet before they knew how to tie their shoes. They fidget and need wiggle room. I want my students to stay engaged, motivated, and excited about what we are learning about, and that can be a struggle without the right classroom tools.
My classroom is a balance between engaging routines and activities incorporated wrapped up and tied into current social trends and interactive media.
My students can tell you all about the newest apps on their parents' iPads, but they will also sing a nursery rhyme with you and finger paint their sight words. Keeping my kinder kiddos engaged, focused, and excited, all while having fun. It has always been and always will be a goal in my classroom.
My Project
My kindergarten classroom may look a little different from the room you may have learned in everyday at school when you were a child.
Come visit my kindergarteners in Room 1 at any given time, and you will see lowered tables, fun stools and cushions, lap desks, and a variety of cool chairs and flexible learning spaces for my kiddos to work at instead of the traditional desks.
Because there are different types of learners, I offer my students different options and spaces to work and play in throughout the day. One child may love working at the picnic table, but another may want to prop up with a clipboard on the rug, or pulling up to the table with a carpet square or stool. Gifting my students with a stage would give them more workspace choices and make it easier for all of my little learners to reach and use our interactive whiteboard.
Allowing my kinders to choose their best learning space helps them become independent, productive, and happy students!
