This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Some of my students have not yet discovered books that capture their imaginations. This could be the year that magic happens and they fall in love with books.

Our school is a Title 1 school in a high poverty district.

My inclusion classroom this upcoming school year consists of 28 students with a wide range of reading levels. The resources available to the students inside and outside of the classroom are limited and I want to be sure that they have books and materials that will keep them interested in reading and engaged!

My Project

My students need books that are interesting and fun to read in order to increase their love of reading. Trying to build 7 and 8 year old's reading stamina is difficult when the books that they are provided with, just don't keep them engaged! High Interest books means high interest desire to read.

The books that I am requesting will enable my students reading opportunities with high interest texts that will keep them engaged, ready to learn and wanting to build their reading stamina.
