Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach a special education 12:1+1 early education class in the Bronx, NY. My students present with a variety of different learning needs and deficits. Their disability classifications include speech/language impairments, learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, ADD/ADHD, and other health impairments.
Setting up a fully stocked classroom in the beginning of school will help set up my students for a successful year.
By donating to this project, you are helping underprivileged students with learning disabilities have an environment that is conducive to learning. The tape and magnets help with the classroom and bulletin board set up to make their new room cozy and cute! The ziploc bags help keep student materials organized and easily accessible. The clorox wipes help keep our classroom clean and germ free. The number of the day chart and student number lines are a few math tools that will aid in students' mathematical thinking. Everyone makes mistakes when they’re learning - which is where the white out comes into use! Finally, the stickers provide students with a tangible positive reinforcement for excellent effort.
Our classroom is mindfully set up and designed to make the space accessible and conducive to all students’ learning. Please help me give my students a greater shot at success!
