My Students

I work with public school students in kindergarten through fifth grade, who qualify for special education. These students have a variety of educational challenges that stem from learning disabilities and/or medical diagnosis.

My students are bright and want to learn, but have some challenges when it comes to learning in the typical general education setting.

My job as a special education teacher is to provide them with the strategies and tools that make learning in the general education setting possible.

My Project

Many of my students have a hard time sitting still while doing their school work. It is helpful to offer them a variety of seating options such as standing desks or the stools which I am requesting.

These stools will help my students who need to wiggle while they write.

The typical elementary student spends 4-6 hours a day sitting in a desk. Sitting for that long can be difficult for any student, but if you are a student who has a medical condition and/or a learning disability, this can have a negative impact on your ability to focus on your work.

This project goal is to provide stools that will enable students to complete more work and close their educational gap.
