Help me give my students a fun and colorful Theater classroom! Between stage-makeup, mirror, costume pieces, finger puppets and prizes for a job well done. These items will 'set the stage' for some great storytelling.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Storytelling is just so much better when you have inspirational, theatrical materials to help your story pop! With stage-makeup and a nice long mirror, my Elementary Theatre students will be able to see what they're doing when adding changes to their appearances. Items like finger puppets and masks, add to our 'character creation', and allow students to experiment with being someone different than themselves - which connects to my yearly theme of 'Empathy and Exploration'. Putting yourself into another's shoes is the foundation of a good performance, and is also needed to be a good human and actor or actress.
I want my classroom to be a warm, inviting place to be, so creativity can thrive!
Things like twinkle lights and scent (with a diffuser) make a huge difference in having children feel comfortable and relaxed.
And items like storage bins and cleaning supplies, help us wrap-up each class, in a clean and organized way, while prizes are an incentive for a job well done.
