Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are bright, fun-loving, and kind little ones who are eager to learn. We love to learn through play, hands-on activities, songs, and stories. Kindergarten is not what it used to be, and it can be a big adjustment to little ones. The switch from mostly play and some academics to mostly academics and some play can be tough. Keeping my students engaged in their learning is my top priority and I am always looking for a way to be a better teacher for them. My littles deserve nothing but the absolute best!

My Project

Get Your Teach On is a two-day conference focused around best practices in keeping student engagement high. I'll learn ways to teach literacy, math, and so much more in fun and exciting ways. I have had the opportunity to attend this conference in the past, in the 2nd and 3rd grade workshops, and the knowledge I gained has made my classroom come alive! I am now teaching kindergarten, and need further professional development that is more age-appropriate.

Kids won't learn if they are not engaged and excited about what they are learning!

Kindergarten has changed so much through the years, and the amount of academic content students are required to learn is high. My goal is to learn ways to keep engagement high so that their learning can be higher. I want my students to be excited about learning and to want to come to school each day. I am hoping to attend the K-1 workshops this time around so I can bring that same level of passion and excitement back to my littles! I am always searching for opportunities to learn and become my best teacher self! Your support will help me gain the knowledge I crave and it will help my students become even more engaged in their learning!
