Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My leadership students have their first big project coming up: On October 4th, we will host International Bike, Walk, and Roll to School Day! My students would love to make this an extra-special event since they are organizing it and volunteering their time to support it. We are envisioning a fun event where any student who bikes/walks/rolls to school will get an extra special welcome. Our school is encouraging environmental activism, so this is a wonderful way to celebrate our growing awareness of climate change and human impact on the Earth. My students are excited to decorate our campus with Earth-themed streamers and balloons.

I can see it now: Any student who bikes/rolls/walks to school will receive Gatorade, Earth stickers, temporary tattoos, granola bars, and be able to take a fun photo in the photo booth!

With this kind of momentum and encouragement, I envision more and more students choosing to avoid traffic and get to school without putting harmful fossil fuel emissions into the atmosphere. With your support, we can have an amazing event, encourage environmental activism, and give our young leaders a great event to plan and execute.
