This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am wanting to do a classroom transformation surrounding a theme of snow! We will learn all about Wilson Bently and how he photographed snowflakes. We will learn all about how snowflakes are formed and what types of conditions allow for snow instead of rain. We will look at the symmetry and shapes in snowflakes and we will design our own snowflakes using all kinds of craft materials for a STEAM project!

My students work so hard and I want to show them just how fun learning can be with this special classroom transformation!

I want them to enjoy learning with as much fun and excitement as they do on a real snow day!

I have plans to incorporate standards from across all subject areas for today: Symmetry and geometry from Math, Weather from Science, History by studying Wilson Bently, and building Reading and Writing skills throughout!

After all of our projects are done, I would love to give each of my students a pair of gloves and their own book about snowflakes they can take home with them.
