All of the items listed in the project went towards a whole indoor snow day and classroom transformation! I spent all afternoon decorating the classroom to look like a winter wonderland! I used plastic table cloths to cover the ceiling and I hung snowflake decorations from them. Every bulletin board was covered with decorations as well as the windows. \r\n\r\nWe spent the whole day learning about snow and how snowflakes are formed. Then we used the craft materials from this project (glue, beads, sequins, cotton balls etc) to create our own snowflakes using a hexagon and symmetry to have a math tie in. We read stories about snow and wrote our own story about a time we played in the snow! At the end of the day we even had an indoor snowball fight!\r\n\r\nOur class was able to do all of this because of your generosity! All of the recess supplies that were chosen for this project was based directly off of a list that my class made together when they thought of (realistic) things that could make their recess better. My students were so thrilled to see all of the soccer balls and even more than the soccer balls, they were elated to see the new soccer ball nets to go on the goals! The nets that we have now have holes in them so the balls go through and down the hill where they cannot go and get them. These nets will help them be more independent and play soccer like their heroes! \r\n\r\nSome of my students absolutely love the chalk. They love drawing all over the track and writing their names in fun fonts and attempting cursive too! I see them imitate what they are practicing in art or what they have seen in a \"How To Draw\" book from the library. \r\n\r\nThe other games like tick tack toe, jump ropes, and the cups are great for students who do not want to run and play but want something to do. Students are so excited to play with all of the new recess supplies that you have gifted to us and we are so very thankful!","fullyFundedDate":1734709479927,"projectUrl":"project/rowdy-at-recess/8794016/","projectTitle":"Rowdy at Recess!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Wilson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp4221368_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1484855637171","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/katherine-wilson"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_18773","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":622,"numTeachers":55,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":33,"percentWhite":10,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":50,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"11.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":55.6,"schoolId":18773,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Grove Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Grove Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/south-carolina/greenville-county-schools/grove-elementary-school/18773"}
