This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a 4th grade teacher in a Title I school, most of my students come from families living in multigenerational, migrant homes. Many of these families lack the access to read to their child at home. Despite these challenges, my students come to school each day eager to learn, grow, and connect. That’s why I’m hoping to build our classroom library with a wide variety of engaging book series. Series books are incredibly powerful for young readers. When students find a book they love, they’re eager to continue the story, revisit beloved characters, and stay connected to the world they’ve discovered.

By giving my students access to different book series, you’ll be helping me provide choices that reflect a wide range of interests, reading levels, and experiences.

Whether they’re drawn to adventure, humor, fantasy, mystery, or realistic fiction, each student will have the opportunity to find a series that speaks to them. That variety is crucial—it means every child can see themselves in the pages of a book, and also see into the lives and imaginations of others.

Your support will help me create a rich, inviting classroom library where reading isn’t just a requirement—it’s something students want to do. With your help, I know we can spark a lifelong love of reading in every child who walks through our classroom door.
