Book series are a fabulous way to inspire all students to be passionate about reading. My goal, as a 5th grade reading teacher, is to cultivate a love for reading in each of my students, regardless of their ability. By exposing students to a book series my hope is that after reading the first book they'll want the second, then third and so on!
Books in a series can provide a fun opportunity for students to get excited about reading.
Receiving complete sets of a book series would be a dream come true for all the readers in my classroom! When students have read a few books in a series already, they can better predict how the plot will go and how characters will respond. Truly, reading a book series is a great place to start to get your reluctant readers reading!
