This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work with a diverse group of students who are full of a love for learning and a desire to do great things. This group of students is most engaged when they get to interact with each other and have opportunities for hands-on learning. They come to our neighborhood school located in the central area of our urban city.

Over seventy-five percent of our students qualify for free lunch and many of them are English Language Learners.

My students bring their best selves to school every day and I am so fortunate to watch them grow!

My Project

My students are excited to be back in class and have books in their hands!

I have found that one way to engage reluctant readers and rigorous readers alike is to have their favorites series on hand!

Students like revisiting familiar characters and seeing what happens next in their adventures. They also frequently choose certain sets of nonfiction texts that allow them to explore topics of interest.

I surveyed my class and this project contains some of their favorite series. I know my readers will be thrilled to have these books delivered and added to our classroom library!
