Serene Surroundings in School

Help me give my students a calming facelift where they can regroup and calm down in order to learn. My students get overstimulated so easily, I want to create a serene, natural environment for my students to learn.

My Students

I am blessed to be working in the best school in the Florida panhandle! I look forward to going to work each day, and I strive for my students to feel the same way. I currently teach a unique group of students in a CBSA Pre-K classroom. My students all have very specific special needs in one or more of the following areas: communication, behavior, social and academics My goal is to create a warm, welcoming and functional learning environment so that each student has the space to learn however suits them the best. I am asking for your help to build a sensory room that not only my students, but other ESE students in our building, can enjoy for years to come.

My Project

I teach in an early childhood special education classroom. My students have multiple disabilities and require the most structured learning environment. My children tend to get overstimulated very easily which leads to behavior problems as well as a loss in learning time.

My goal is to transform my classroom into a more serene, calming and less stimulating environment.

I feel that by covering the bright walls and adding light filter covers, the classroom will be more calming, which will in turn help students to learn. I think this will also curb many of our daily behavior challenges as well.
