My students need a place where they can go and still be in the classroom monitored by me when they are feeling overwhelmed.
My students have big feelings and need to learn how to manage them.
Providing a corner of my classroom that enables them to learn to self- soothe, take a break, or just chill to reflect would be incredibly helpful to their social emotional needs. Not only would they mentally feel better, it would set them up to receive the academic lessons.
The bean bag chair, books, calm strips and other items requested allow my students to pause, get calm, and refocus so they can be ready to learn!
