Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a special education teacher, I have the privilege of working with an incredible group of K-5 students, each with unique abilities and challenges. My students, who face a variety of disabilities, are truly special and amazing individuals. They inspire me every day with their resilience, creativity, and determination. I am committed to providing them with an environment where they can learn, grow, and thrive both academically and emotionally.

One of the most important resources we have is our “Sensory Wonderland,” a space specifically designed to meet the sensory needs of my students.

This room provides a safe, calming environment that helps students regulate their emotions and behaviors. For students with sensory processing needs, access to this space is vital for their well-being and ability to learn. However, our sensory room is in need of new sensory tools and equipment to better support the diverse needs of my students. With your support, I hope to revamp this space, giving my students more opportunities to self-regulate, focus, and engage in their learning.

In addition to our sensory room, I am also requesting assistance in launching a class coffee cart. This initiative will allow my students to develop essential real-world skills, such as teamwork, responsibility, and communication. Most importantly, it will provide an opportunity for them to interact with General Education peers, fostering a sense of pride and accomplishment. The coffee cart will serve as both a functional and educational tool, offering my students a chance to practice life skills that are vital for their success and independence.

My students and I would be deeply grateful for any support or donations to help make these initiatives a reality. Your generosity will positively impact their education, well-being, and future. Thank you for considering this opportunity to make a lasting difference in their lives.
