This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Many of the students in my current program have autism. They present with many sensory difficulties. Sensory input helps my students to maintain attention while getting the input their bodies crave.
These weighted vests can be used with multiple students and be given to them for various amounts of time, providing the sensory input these students seek; allowing them to be more comfortable in their environment.
Several students in our program will benefit from these weighted vests, as they are only worn for short periods of time.
