Sensory Walk!

Help me give my students these sensory path kits. These decals will be placed in the halls through the entire school to benefit all students from Pre-K to fifth grade and help them release pent up energy.

My Students

Our elementary school has wonderful students! I personally teach Title I Math, and my students along with the entire population of our school work hard every day to put forth their best effort but often struggle with ways to cope with outside stressors and big emotions.

Having a sensory path in the hall on the way to and from our classrooms would help our students to get the wiggles out before a lesson and would function as a reward between transitions.

A sensory path would be an excellent way to allow our students to relieve stress in a safe way as they transition from class to class.

My Project

Having a sensory walk set up in the hallway that leads to and from each classroom will allow our striving learners to get their pent-up energy out before they enter our classrooms, allowing them to have better focus. The sensory walk activities will also be used between transitions to reward students for a job well done.

Our students are most successful when they feel supported and their needs are being met, emotionally, academically, and physically.

This sensory walk will allow us to address the physical needs of our students, and can also be used to help students deescalate when they are dealing with big feelings.
